It’s that time of year to spread joy and cheer by displaying our Carpenter Village pride with our 5th Annual Light Up the Village contest.
It’s one of the most anticipated events of the year. Not just for our village but for the surrounding area. Decorate your home with lights, greenery, ribbons, blow-ups & more.
We want lots of homes to enter the contest; however, if you do not enter, please consider joining in on the fun by decorating your home with lights to spread much-needed holiday cheer!
Entering and Voting is open to the public in 2024! Invite your friends and neighbors from the surrounding area!
CONTEST RULES
Carpenter Village Residents Only
- You may enter One (1) category only
- Deadline to enter is Friday, December 20, 2024 11:59 PM
- Online Voting will begin Saturday, December 21 through Sunday, December 29, 2024 11:59 PM
- Photos of your home may be submitted to lightupthevillage2022@gmail.com to be highlighted on the voting form link on https://lightupthevillage.com/
- Photos not received by the entry deadline will not be added to the voting forms.
- Contest is open to all homes who pay into the CV master HOA (Elite).
- 2023 Winners are welcome to compete in any category.
- You may Vote for One contestant (1) in EACH category.
- 2024 Voting is open to the public.
- Voting: Email and Phone # will be requested If multiple emails will be deleted only one vote per email voting forms are submitted, the one with the latest date & time will be counted, and all previous votes will be discarded.
- Online Voting will begin Saturday, December 21, through Sunday, December 29, 2024 11:59 PM

Traditional or Winter Wonderland
Exclusively Traditional Decorations in Red, Green, or White Lights with Wreaths and Candlelit elegance.
Traditional decorations that embrace the season's traditional beauty. Imagine and celebrate the beauty of winter with graceful deer, window wreaths, candlelit windows, glistening snow, delicate snowflakes, and the soft glow of garlands, trees, and shrubs.
Deck the Halls
Get ready for Colors Galore, Blow Ups and more shenanigans! Multicolor lights and decorations can be simple or complex. Would you rather keep it cool or release your inner Griswold? We are all for it! More is merrier! Can we see those lights from space like Danny Devito in "Deck the Halls"? Or do you have a rooftop, Frosty like in "Christmas with the Kranks"? Let's keep the holiday spirit flowing!
Best Outdoor Tree(s)
Elevate your holiday spirit with the ultimate outdoor tree, meticulously decorated for a festive and enchanting atmosphere and inviting curb appeal.
In 2023 we were graced with two entries in this category. They were beautiful, our hope for 2024 is to receive an abundance of entries, each more delightful than the last.
Charleston Style
This category is limited to Charleston Style homes in Carpenter Village. No other style homes may enter.
This category was added based on feedback in 2021 that it's hard to compete with all the homes in the neighborhood.
Rules:
Entrant must be a Charleston-style home located in Carpenter Village.
Entrants that live in a Charleston-style home may enter ANY category but only one category.
You do not HAVE to enter this category.
Town Homes
This category is limited to Townhomes. No other style homes may enter.
This category was added based on feedback in 2023 that it's hard to compete with all the homes in the neighborhood.
Rules:
The entrant must be a Carpenter Village Townhome or pay into the Carpenter Village Master HOA.
Entrants that live in a Townhome may enter ANY category but only one category.
You do not HAVE to enter this category.
